Pick a date in the past to see how long it takes to reach the event.

How to calculate time between dates

  1. Choose the starting date in the past.
  2. Choose the event date, or use today.
  3. Read the span in years and months, months and weeks, weeks, and days.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate weeks between two dates?

The calculator counts whole weeks and leftover days from the start date to the event date. A year is 52 weeks and 1 day in non-leap years.

What is the difference between calendar months and weeks?

Calendar months follow the actual month lengths. Weeks are always 7 days. That is why 12 months can be 52 weeks and 1 day, not a round number of weeks.

Can the event date be before the start date?

Yes. The tool still shows the time between them and notes that the event is earlier, so you can compare either direction.
